released as part of the EXPOSED anthology, and loosely linked to the #Gaymers
Universe, this friends-to-lovers, hurt/comfort story stands alone with a
guaranteed happy ending. Contains a brief mention of a prior assault, but no
on-screen violence or flashbacks.
Opposites can attract and sometimes do but what happens when two people who first met online come face-to-face for the first time and discover that it was all an illusion? Landon’s ‘crush’, instead of a small girl with pink hair, the photographer Bailey is a big, bearded bear of a guy and Landon stays far away from guys who are bigger than he after a life-changing experience as a teen.
Despite all that, this story was fun. Consider a geeky scientist who is volunteered to pose for a calendar for charity. It says nude but they can’t really mean NUDE? They must just mean shirtless, right? So not only is the photographer a man, a large man, but Landon is supposed to actually pose nude, naked, bare!
Yes, this story is fun, a little bit of angst with references to past events and mental health issues but the fun, sweet and sexy fun far outweighs the serious moments. It is toe-curling, heart-warming and there are cats!
This is a great beach read, window-seat read, charming and, of course, there is a satisfying finish.
