My thoughts about THREEPEAT
This is a relationship story, a primer in relationships that work, what happens when they don’t and how to regain the bond. The third book in the Secrets series, it is rewarding to return to see the doms and subs from prior stories, some we loved and others we want to know better. The world created by authors Wells and Williams is set in England, in a BDSM club although this story is less about kink and more about self-identity, ID if you will, and relationships.
Sam and Aaron thought they had everything they needed when their threesome fell apart and their sub, Sebastian left without an explanation. Since that time, despite the love between Sam and Aaron, things simply didn’t work. How could they move on if they didn’t understand what happened? How could they trust again?
Sam needs to be THE dom. He needs the control that offers and he had it once or thought that he did. Aaron, also a top, and dominant in his own right, needs to be needed. He thrives on his relationship with Sam as long as he has the ability to nurture and care for a third, submissive to them both.
Sam and Aaron are second-guessing their own relationship and struggling to make it work because each too important to the other to just give up. One evening Aaron came upon a young man who is homeless and very ill and his nurture nature didn’t allow him to just ignore this painfully thin, ill young man.
Tim is a sad young man who doesn’t believe that he deserves much as he has only known ridicule and abuse from his family, other than brief respite with his grandmother. He hasn’t known a normal childhood and although he always knew he was ‘different’ he only understood the nature of that difference in his early teen years. There was no nurture in his home and no sense of ‘family’. After he was beaten and forcibly ejected from his home, just staying alive was Tim’s constant focus and when we meet him, he is desperate, physically and emotionally depleted. He has lost hope and regaining any sense of self, of hope for a future will be a long journey.
This is a strong story of recovery, for Tim as well as for Aaron and Sam. It is an emotional love story with all of the romance and passion found in the best stories of that genre.
Authors Williams and Wells always tear us apart a bit, making us suffer along with the characters before they show us that there is a door and it is open and with color and love on the other side.
The most difficult thing upon reaching the last page, the last word is that I immediately want to return to our friends and Secrets.
The sizzle factor is a 4, the story 4.5 stars and my desire for the next in this series is a strong 5!
Synopsis / Blurb
Can two Doms open their hearts again for a young man desperately in need of their help?
Two years ago, Aaron Greene and Sam Thompson were devastated when their submissive broke the contract that bound the three of them together. They still wonder what happened and whether they can find a way to move forward. When Aaron finds a sick young man by the curbside, his protective instincts kick in, and after consulting Sam, he takes Tim home.
After being thrown out of his home, Tim Waterman finds himself on the street, doing whatever he needs to survive. Until a bear of a Good Samaritan scoops him up and saves him. Then one bear becomes two, and a chance discovery gets him thinking about what might be, if he’s bold enough to make a move.
So what happens when Aaron and Sam wake up one morning to find Tim naked in their bed? Will they get a new chance at life, or will history Threepeat itself? (less)
