Big, Big Love. Passion and Suspense. Suspense and Passion. There is so much emotion and action in this story that it is difficult if not impossible to put down for even one second.
What happens when a gay, former Army Major with an other than honorable discharge, secrets and incredible loss is charged with protecting a politician who is known for his activities as a member of anti-homosexual, far-right conservative political machine? More action and sizzle that you might expect.
The main characters are entirely flawed, both, yet lovable. Their complex relationships with our friends from prior stories in this and related series enhance the emotional angst of this story. Every single book in this series, most particularly this one, is stunning!
Vincent is known as the Ghost and lives in the shadows to protect his life and the lives of his friends; his few friends, as he lives a solitary life. He has already suffered devastating loss and is not going to put anyone else in a position of danger by association with him.
Nathan is a campaigning politician who was brought up by an ultra religious, right-wing conservative father and as a result, he is only now finding his own way.
Someone is trying to kill Nathan. A former Army colleague of Vincent’s is calling in a favor, asking him to protect Nathan, even though everything about Nathan, from his former anti-gay political views to his current political aspirations, everything is abhorrent to Vincent.
If you are looking for a nice quiet read, this is NOT the book for you.
